Whether you want to live on campus or commute from home, live life your way when you join Royal Holloway through Clearing.
Accommodation guarantee
For students who use Clearing ahead of A-level results day (from 2 July), we guarantee an offer of a room at our Egham campus* if you accept a Clearing offer and apply for accommodation by 11.59pm on 6 August. (Please note, you will not be able to apply for accommodation between 28 July and 3 August).
For students who use Clearing from A-level results day (13 August) we are typically able to guarantee you an offer of accommodation, but will confirm this nearer the time.
*Guarantee only applies to halls at our Egham campus. If your course is based in London, you can apply for a place in intercollegiate halls (see link below).
Living on campus
Our fantastic range of halls suits different needs, choices and budgets. Maybe you'll opt for traditional student living with a room in our Grade-I listed Founder's Building, or perhaps you prefer a more modern shared townhouse. All our halls in Egham are on campus and close to academic, study and social buildings. You'll have choices over catered and self-catered living, shared or en-suite bathrooms, and additional preferences if you want somewhere quieter or alcohol free.
Once you’ve confirmed your Clearing place with us you'll be able to apply for accommodation using our Online Accommodation System.
Please note, it can take up to 24 hours after your Clearing place has been confirmed before you're able to apply for halls of residence.
If your course is based at our London campus, find out more about our intercollegiate halls.
Commuting
Many of our students choose to commute to Royal Holloway and we're ideally placed if you live in the London or south east of England area. Our Egham campus has great transport links and commuting students who drive can apply for a free parking permit.
There are plenty of ways you can maximise your time as a commuter, from our dedicated student lounges dotted across the campus to commuter communities, set up to help you meet fellow students and make sure you're not missing out on university life.
Private accommodation
You can also live in private rented accommodation in the local area around Egham, where houses are of a high standard and living costs compare favourably with other parts of the south east.
