Awarded a Head of Departments prize for contribution to the department.

I am so grateful to have been presented with this award. I have loved every second of my time at Royal Holloway and am extremely sad to be leaving.

Being part of the department

I chose to study History at Royal Holloway both for the extensive choice to study what I wanted to from the day I arrived, and for the welcoming faces of academics and students at events on campus. Three years on and I am so honoured to have become one of those friendly faces, and to have experienced studying History at such a special place. I was very fortunate to be a student ambassador for the university and thoroughly enjoyed working closely with the Department. I had the opportunity to engage in all of the exciting work that goes on behind the scenes, to make sure that students have the best possible experience whilst at university.

Studying at Royal Holloway meant not only did I receive a remarkable education but that I got to know the most wonderful community of researchers and students. It really is a place of open doors, corridor conversations and bumping into friendly academics on campus.

I was provided with a huge range of support during my studies, including funding to present at conferences and promotion of a radio show myself and a few other students produced.
