A new partnership between several Universities is helping to open up cybersecurity career opportunities for young people not in work or education.
Royal Holloway, the University of Surrey, and the University for the Creative Arts are aiming to help young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs) to discover career opportunities in the UK’s growing cybersecurity sector.
With funding awarded through the Future of Work in Surrey, the ‘CyberAccess’ project has been co-designed by researchers and project partners including Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership, Activate Learning, Wren Junction Ltd and experienced cybersecurity specialists.
Dr Waleed Bin Shahid from Royal Holloway’s Information Security Group will take a leading role on the project, alongside Professor Amelia Hadfield from the University of Surrey. This project demonstrates the potential for impact achieved through collaboration between local universities and industry partners, at a regional level and beyond.
