Surviving Peer Review in Historical and Literary Studies
Publishing your first articles in peer-reviewed journals is an exciting yet daunting milestone for PhD students. This workshop brings together experienced academics from different disciplines (History and English) who draw on their experience inside the editorial processes of academic journals to demystify the process and reveal how things work behind the scenes. Through a series of hands-on workshops we will focus on understanding what peer reviewers and editors are looking for, how to navigate readers’ reports when they come back to you as an author, and – ultimately – how to get published.
The event is open to all PhD students but will particularly benefit advanced students who are already thinking about publishing. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
