Working Less, Accomplishing More: Deep Work Practices for Greater Flow and Productivity
If you’re fed-up of constantly overworking, feeling exhausted and still not making sustainable, steady progress, this workshop has been especially designed to help you out of this rut!
You’ll be introduced to the highly effective and productive practice of deep, focused work, which will help you to accomplish more high-quality work by doing less (yes, it really is possible).
We’ll begin by challenging unhelpful beliefs around what it means to “work hard” and “be productive,” and encourage you to find your own optimal work rhythm—even if it’s different from others’.
Then, drawing from Newport’s Deep Work, Pang’s Rest and Csikszentmihalyi’s Flow, this workshop will introduce you to alternative ‘deep work’ practices, which will honour your individual working preferences and also:
- Create more time for rest and play
- Enhance focus and effectiveness
- Achieve sustainable progress you can feel proud of
We’ll also address common PhD challenges like procrastination, low motivation, and feelings of guilt for “not working enough.”
Join us for practical tips on how to get unstuck and find more focus, flow and easy, smooth progress in your research you can feel really proud of.
